This is a completely factual account of Elie Wiesel's experience as a prisoner of the concentration camps. There is nothing fictional about it. When it was published, it was categorized as a novel because the publisher's feared that no one would buy the book. Yes, there is an audio book although I don't know if it's abridged. The book, in it's entirety, isn't that long and should be read by everyone
